The pool is perfect for Scuba Diving. We conduct the initial skills with the pool depth between 1- 1.4m, and then after the initial skills are completed the bottom of the pool drops to whatever depth we require. We usually change the depth to its maximum of 3.6m.
What happens on the night?
Students should arrive at the reception of the leisure centre before 7:30pm and are asked to read and complete a medical statement and the PADI Discover Scuba Diving statement. The students then assemble on poolside for 8pm. A briefing is conducted and the students are shown how to use and put on the equipment. After a few skills conducted in the presence of the instructor the students have free time to use the equipment and enjoy the underwater world. Students finish at 9.30pm.
Once students have finished in the pool, we head over to the Notting Grill Bar and Restaurant, for some light snacks.
The night is run to give students an introductory look at Scuba Diving, with two PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors and a couple of PADI Divemaster trainees. During the evening, we aim to provide students with a briefing on what happens to our body underwater, in-water skill practice and time to swim around the pool using the equipment.
The cost of the evening is £30. This covers entry to the pool, light snacks, tutition and use of the equipment, and includes air in the tanks...!
