Team Member: Rachel AllanEmail Rachel
Rachel has been diving since learning at the Great Barrier Reef and finding Nemo when she travelled to Australia in 2003. She completed her PADI Advanced course in New Zealand shortly afterwards, diving in the North Island where her best dive was the Rainbow Warrior at Paihia.
In the UK Rachel has dived at Gildenburgh and around Plymouth, exploring a few wrecks including the Scylla and the James Eagan Lane. She has most recently dived on the reefs at Sharm el Sheik in Egypt where she saw moray eels, some enormous rays, butterfly fish, loads of barracuda, napoleon fish, lion fish, emperor fish and unicorn fish. In completing her Divemaster course at Silverdive Rachel hopes to be able to chase the sun and work abroad - and find a turtle because she's not been lucky enough to see one yet!
When she's not diving Rachel plays cello in her band, Chihiro, which was formed while she was at university in Norwich. In between gigs she travels as much as possible, her favourite places have included Helsinki, Madrid and Bologna. She has recently learnt to surf and intends to spend many of her weekends at the beach.
